You should take care and check the ingredients in the bag, if there is a lot or high in nitrogen or sulphate this will simply make your lawn green quickly and for a short period as there is very little nutrients in the bag. Always ask for the slow release i.e.: granulated fertilizer, which will last up to three to four weeks. You must specify before purchasing the fertilizer and ask if the fertiliser is for winter or summer. Too much nitrogen will unbalance your soil.

This is another cheaper alternative to verti-mowing but not as complicated and time consuming as vert-mowing ,its main goal is to help the lawn soak through the grass into the soil as it plunges holes across your lawn. As you water your lawn it gets to the roots instead of just running off the lawn. Aerating has be known to give great results.
